Accessibility
This website is meant to work for everyone – with a keyboard, a screen reader, large text or in easy German. Here is what already works, what is still missing and where to turn.
What this website does
Every page can be operated fully by keyboard, with a visible focus and a skip link to the content.
At the top of every page there are switches for high contrast and three text sizes. Your browser remembers the setting.
All pages are available in easy German (Leichte Sprache) and in ten further languages – English, Dutch, Polish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian.
Headings, landmarks and alternative texts for images are in place for screen readers.
Nothing blinks or moves on its own; if your system asks for reduced motion, the site respects it.
Colour contrast meets WCAG 2.1 level AA – and well above it with the contrast switch on.
No cookies, no third-party services, no consent banners blocking the way.
What is still missing
There are no sign-language videos and no audio versions of the texts.
The statutes are so far only available as a plain PDF, not yet as an accessible PDF.
The easy-German texts have not yet been checked by a review group of people with learning difficulties.
